Living Room - Finishing touches!

With the floor in, we finally reached the point we had been waiting for all along. It is so great to have a functioning room back and we are really proud of how it looks.

We now have some proper speakers connected to the TV which brings a lot of pleasure to Dave's ears. The layout of the room had to change a little because of this to get the optimum sweet spot. This included a lot of measuring with tape measures and protractors to get the perfect angle!

We took a trip to Ikea to get a couple of bits that would finish the room off a little more. We got a rug for the sofa area, a new frame for Dave's beloved Norman Wisdom poster and a really cool mirror for the back wall. We didn't plan on buying the mirror but saw it and it was love at first sight! Adding these extra bits to the room really makes all the difference.

I also got a new yellow plant pot for my cactus from Sainsburys, I still need to switch it over though!

I might treat our sofas to a couple of new cushions as ours are now a bit floppy!

We still have a few things to sort:

1) Get a record player and find something suitable for it to sit on. 

2) Possibly add some shelves to the plain grey wall to break it up the blank space.
3) A coffee table and a little side table between the sofas.
4) Decide on whether to go for a table and chairs or not. We really like the look of the room without a dining table - but obviously would be useful to have one! If we don't have one in the living room, we will just keep it in the dining/ kitchen area instead.
