We have a floor!
After much deliberation and receiving multiple samples of flooring we decided to go with a 'Chocolate brushed and lacquered engineered oak' for anyone interested. Knowing that it has chocolate in the title definitely made the decision a lot easier for me anyway!
Too be honest I didn't play much of a part in laying the floor other than handing Dave the planks and cleaning up at the end of each evening. We laid the planks out by size and gave them a number. I felt like Carol Vorderman on Countdown when he was asking for them 'Number 3 please, Carol'
The first few rows were the trickiest but once Dave got the hang of it there was no stopping him! We started 8pm Sunday evening and finished Thursday evening (working as well). Pretty good going!
Once the flooring was complete we were very keen to get the skirting boards in, as we were so close to the finish line! Little did we know that they would be the most frustrating part of the whole thing! It's always the way. We initially plan to glue the skirting back on but that idea quickly went out the window when we remember the whole house is wonky!
We had to screw them back in and then fill and paint over the holes.

There was a lot of chopping bits to the fit the gap at the end but once again Dave did a great job. He was especially pleased with his gaps around the radiator - so here is a photo to commemorate that!
