Bedroom Furniture
We took a trip to Ikea to find the bedroom furniture (drawers and bedside tables). We knew all along that we wanted to personalise the furniture in some way. We decided upon the Tarva range at Ikea, which is built for people to do what they want with it.
This is what they look like once built....by Dave:
Dave mostly left me to it on how the furniture would be painted. I wanted to put a bit of natural wood back in to the bedroom, as most of it is just paint. This was a good opportunity to do this. We took another trip to B&Q, and bought some varnish, furniture paint and handles. We chose the furniture paint in a similar colour to the walls.
The varnish is a Dark Oak colour, which took two coats to get to the colour that we liked. I then painted the top and the drawers. (both bedside tables and drawers the same). I then finished off with furniture wax and added the handles.

The whole process was pretty simple and very satisfying. Here is the finished product.
We are now just waiting for the carpet to be put in and then the room is finished! Can't wait!
